"Everywhere this industry touches down it leaves an imprint of misery and injury, and everywhere it goes it is challenged and fought. If each of us is called on to choose a side in the contest over nuclear energy on a warming planet, then at the very least, let the facts speak. "
This is not a work of analysis or opinion, but a straightforward chronology of nuclear accidents, incompetence and disaster spanning seven decades.
The BNI uranium project seeks to highlight the adverse impact of the uranium and wider nuclear industry in Australia and to promote a nuclear free future. The project has a focus on the interface between the nuclear industry and Indigenous people.
FootPrints for Peace is a global community of friends who are dedicated to creating change through peaceful action. We organize events throughout the world that bring together in solidarity a moving community to deepen our understanding of spiritual, cultural, and environmental issues. Our aim is to educate, inspire, and empower individuals and communities in building a sustainable future.
This group came into being in 1997 (then known as the Anti-Uranium Coalition, AUCWA), to act as an umbrella group for organisations campaigning against the nuclearisation of Australia. Our role is mainly in research, political lobbying and publication of information that we believe the community needs in order to make informed decisions about uranium mining, nuclear power, weapons and waste.
