The OECD Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA), in co-operation with Studsvik Nuclear AB, the Swedish Radiation Safety Authority (SSM), Swedish Nuclear Fuel and Waste Management Co (SKB) and AB SVAFO, is arranging a workshop on Radiological characterisation for decommissioning and dismantling

The objective of the workshop is to highlight, examine and discuss strategic issues related to radiological characterisation of nuclear facilities to facilitate their safe and efficient decommissioning. The workshop will be a forum for

• learning about current practices,
• exchange of experiences of both successful and less successful projects,
• discussion of best practice and needs for improvement, and
• development of networks in the area of radiological characterisation, waste management and decommissioning
