C4.Inside the Key Lake Mill.

C4.Inside the Key Lake Mill. This mill concentrates uranium ore from the Key Lake mine. Through a series of chemical leaching processes, crushed ore is transformed into a fine uranium oxide powder called yellowcake. Most of the radioactive rock entering the mill leaves as a sandy waste that still contains 85% of the ore's original radioactivity. Key Lake Open Pit Mine, Northern Saskatchewan, Canada. 17 September 1986.
